IND vs PAK: In what could be a big blow for Pakistan, all-rounder Imad Wasim is very likely to be ruled out of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 due to his side strain injury.

Imad Wasim, who was picked in Pakistan's T20 World Cup 2024 squad after he came out of his retirement, has a vast experience of playing in the Caribbean islands. He features regularly in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

As per a report by BBN Sports, Pakistan are trying their best to prepare Imad Wasim for the crucial clash against India at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday. The left-arm spinner could be given injections and pain killers to make him match fit against mighty Indians. The report added that Imad Wasim was '80 percent' certain of being sent back home after the match against India. Mehran Mumtaz has been kept on standby after clearing the fitness test at NCA in Lahore. Mumtaz came into the reckoning as captain Babar Azam and Gary Kirtsen wanted a left-arm spinner in the team.

IND vs PAK? Saim Ayub to open with Mohammad Rizwan in India vs Pakistan match?

The BBN Sports journalist has also claimed that Pakistan are mulling to send Saim Ayub to open with Mohammad Rizwan. In this Babar Azam would come to bat at three, and one of the three pacers could be dropped. Azam Khan's place is also in danger due to his poor form.

The report suggested that after recent criticisms of the Nassau County (New York) pitch, a high-scoring belter is being prepared for the India vs Pakistan clash. Notably, Pakistan lost their T20 World Cup 2024 opener against USA, and now are under a lot of pressure. A defeat against India would seriously dent their chances of making it to the Super Eight of T20 World Cup 2024.
